So y'all probably heard that Shepard Fairey is painting some murals about a mile from my house. Who's Shepard Fairey, you ask? Well, he's the genius graff writer, illustrator, social media artist who created the Obama Hope poster in '08 - which I've included in case you've forgotten.
For those of you who don't live in Dallas, the big white arch in the midground of the scene is a swank new Calatrava-designed bridge connecting my part of town with downtown. Set to open in March, the powers-that-be hired Shepard to spruce up the bridge landing with some art.
For those of you wanting to road trip down here to take a look-see, the murals are at the Dallas Contemporary at Riverfront and Glass, at the Belmont Hotel at Fort Worth and Sylvan, and finally at 331 Singleton at the foot of the (as yet unopened) Calatrava bridge.
Take a look. Hella cool.
