The Bath House show Fresh Faces 2X2 closed yesterday before I could get my favorite images up. Curated by Rita Barnard, the show featured DFW artists who had never shown at the Bath House before. Only requirement was that their piece fit within a 2X2X2 space.
As usual, the Bath House gallery, under the supervision and frequent curation of talented Enrique Cervantes, found some fresh new work to show us. I was happy to make the acquaintance of Chance Dunlap's magical 3D work, enjoy Kasten Searles' "New Media" painted on stitched-together muslin, and see another piece of Michael Christopher's magical light-emitting sculptures. Mike Salcido wowed me with a giant stylized hibiscus photo and Dan Colcer's gorgeous paint and ink Pegasus is impossible to forget.
Slideshow artists, in order:
Chance Dunlap (Dum-Dums - my favorite piece in the show)
Let's hope we see lots from these artists around town very soon.
